Prado Museum: “From Clasicism to
Modernity”
Due to the commemoration of the 200th Anniversary of
the Prado Museum’s opening, we’ll have a guided tour into the main
masterpieces, introducing essential aspects of the Museum and its importance in
the generation of art.

11:30: Learning Activity 1: “IDENTITY AND COMMUNITY: MUSICAL GRAPHIC EXPRESSIÓN”,
with Jose María Bullón.
Through
music, students will develop and experience graphic gestural processes in
large formats, with the main intention of acquiring a greater awareness of
their identity and sense of belonging to the mutual human territory.

Identity as individual. The personal territory:
individual graphic expression.

The collective identity: national territory; music as
a collective identity: shared graphic expression.
·
Body’s territory as unity of bodies: music as the
motive for gestural graphic expression
·
Sharing mutual graphic expression
12:00 – 14:00: Learning
Activity 2: “OTHERS-COMMUNITIES”, with
Lila Insúa.
Is in that intersection of communities that just meet in, exploring the
relationship inside-outside, the affairs and nationalities, where I’m proposing
to this heterogeneous group a circular journey, on board bus #46. A room with a
view, a moving place, where we can work with the territory, on the basis of
experiencing it.
Requirements:
This workshop will require previous work by students,
who will be asked by mail.

9:30 – 13:00: Learning Activity 3: “AUGMENTED BODY”, with Mónica Gener and Concha García.
Practical reflection on the technologies experienced
as a prosthetic extension of the body itself. We will create hybrid systems
based on the body augmented by the mediation of the technologies. We will use
electrography, digital and direct printing and other devices
"invented" to materialize the ideas.

14:30 – 19:00: Learning Activity 4: “FORENSIC DRAWING”, with Francisco Torrego and Ricardo Horcajada.
Our body keeps a biography of which we are sometimes unaware. Our body
keeps signs of our life that we don´t know. The theoretical-practical class
that Prof. Torrego and Horcajada develop together has as object to bring us
closer to those unknown evidences that are hidden in our body. The class will
have a theoretical part linked to literary developments given by Prof. Torrego
in the anatomy classroom and a practical part given by Prof. Horcajada in the
dissection centre of the UCM.

Anatomy Classroom at Fine Arts Faculty, UCM with F. Torrego.
Part 2: 17:00- 19:00 in the
Dissection Centre of the UCM with R. Horcajada.
Requirements
Students must bring drawing material with a maximum size of DinA3.
Dressing gowns and medical caps or handkerchiefs for the dissection centre.

15:00 – 17:30: Learning Activity 5. MONOTYPE. “The
gesture as an expansion of the body” with Margarita González and
Mar Mendoza
This workshop focuses on how the monotype becomes physical evidence of
the constructive processes in the artistic language. We will analyse the
similarities and differences between the processes of producing monotypes
versus drawings, as well as the specific input of the printing process and its
contribution to the final print. This practice is framed within the general
theme BODY AND TERRITORY, which will be discussed through different initiatives
at the IMACLA 2018 program.
